At times it seems as if the narrator, Luli, isn’t years-old at all, yet the whole story has a kind of gloss over it, like how a year-old would explain something to you.
HICK is a simple book with a subtly complex message andrfa works as social commentary as well as a sort of disturbing coming of age. The weird touch to it is really andre makes this book so great and what sets itself apart.

The script for the movie was not the greatest the acting on the other hand was superb and after finding that the author had also written the screen play, I didn’t expect much. Preview — Hick by Andrea Portes. May 16, Micheal rated it liked it.
I wanted to uick her. Luli immediately finds herself entranced by Glenda’s straight-shooting personality and seemingly glamorous life anerea the road. Bit of a downer, and wholly disturbing. From here, Luli becomes inextricably linked to this particular group of societal outcasts. The film critic reception seems to have been kind of vitriolic.
The raw materials for this novel are therefore not the problem.
